Struggle Less | Achieve More

Assistive TEchnology for learning and life challenges

A Guide on Your Side

What parent doesn’t want their child to achieve their best in school and in life? Unfortunately, students with disabilities frequently don’t have access to the right tools and technology that would help them experience success. Lack of access to the right technology at school, in the home, and out in the community all too often results in limited success and independence; or worse, feelings of failure.

Whether it’s reading, writing, communication, or physical access, Assist Tech Pro helps guide students, families, and individuals with disabilities in gaining access to the assistive technology (AT) tools and services that will reduce or remove the barriers that limit their potential.

Assist Tech Pro: Struggle Less. Achieve More

The Assist Tech Pro Process

  • Consultation: Structured interviews and conversations to identify the barriers that are impeding educational progress and growth.
    • Discovery: Tools and devices (often what you already have available) are trialed for determination of best fit for the student.
    • Training: Focused instruction and practice with the tools or devices to foster independent use and practice.
    • Support: Ongoing troubleshooting and problem solving as needed or as new issues arise.
  • Assessment: Rating scales and questionnaires are completed by those who know the student best. The results are compiled, scored, and shared to inform IEP goals going forward. The option for a comprehensive report for IEP teams is available.
  • Advocacy: From answering your most pressing special education questions to joining you at the IEP conference table, having an experienced, knowledgeable advocate in your corner can make all the difference.

Assessment

Special education law provides for the option of an assistive technology evaluation with comprehensive report. At Assist Tech Pro, we prefer the term assessment rather than evaluation. This option is very thorough.

Advocacy

Navigating the world of special education law and all the meetings involved can be daunting. An advocate can help you rest assured that your student is getting what they need to achieve their best in school.
